About this course: Reducing drug deaths is a key strategic objective and all DATs are working to achieve this laudable aim. This course looks at how workers and organisations can assess local trends, establish strategies to reduce deaths, and work with users and other services to achieve this reduction.
Duration: One-day
Appropriate for: Drugs Workers, hospital staff and paramedics, police, service managers and peer-educators; previous drugs training will be required
Objectives: By the end of the course, participants will;DANOS Modules:
AA1 Recognise indications of substance misuse and refer individuals to specialists
AB2 Support individuals who are substance users
AB5 Assess and act upon immediate risk of danger to substance use
AB10 Relate to families parents and carers
AD1 Raise awareness about substances, their use and effects
AH12 Enable individuals to take their medication as prescribed
