Talk to Frank
Formerly the The National Drugs Helpline, FRANK is the new Government funded drugs awareness website. It provides information for drug users, their friends and families. It has various information resources online and with a web based question facility. Despite repeated representations, some of the content online is not accurate.

Re-Solv is a national United Kingdom charity dedicated to the prevention of solvent and volatile substance abuse.

Scottish Drugs Forum
The Scottish Drugs Forum is national non-government drugs policy and information agency, aiming to support and represent, at both local and national levels, a wide range of interests, promoting collaborative, evidence-based responses to drug use.

HIT has been providing training, consultation and information on drug-related issues since 1985. HIT seeks to develop, advocate and implement pragmatic and effective approaches to drug use.

Drug Education Forum
The Drug Education Forum has launched a new website for Forum members, policy makers, local coordinators and practitioners interested or involved in drug education. It provides details of the work of the Forum and its information service, including downloadable copies of the Forum's newsletter Drug Education Matters and accompanying fact sheets and briefings, links to other useful organisations in the drugs field, a news database and a bulletin board.

Drug Policy Alliance
Drug Policy Alliance is the leading organization working to broaden the public debate on drug policy and to promote realistic alternatives to the war on drugs based on science, compassion, public health and human rights. The Alliance was formerly known as The Lindesmith Center - Drug Policy Foundation. The Lindesmith Center, created in 1994, was the leading independent drug policy reform institute in the United States. The Drug Policy Foundation, founded in 1987, represented over 25,000 supporters and was the principal membership-based organization advocating for more sensible and humane drug policies. The two organizations merged on July 1, 2000 with the objective of building a national drug policy reform movement.

Erowid.org is an online library of information about psychoactive plants and chemicals and related topics. The information on the site is a compilation of the experiences, words, and efforts of hundreds of individuals including users, parents, health professionals, doctors, therapists, chemists, researchers, teachers, and lawyers. Erowid acts as a publisher of new information as well as a library for the collection of documents published elsewhere. The information found on the site spans the spectrum from solid peer reviewed research to fanciful creative writing.

The Mental Health Foundation is a UK charity which aims to improve the lives of everyone with mental health problems or learning difficulties. It undertakes research, service development and information to increase understanding and meet people's needs. It also contains a very comprehensive links page for mental health organisations.

The UK Federation of Smaller Mental Health Agencies
The Federation is a new membership based Charity set up to support its locally based and independent Members in developing and providing mental health services in their community. It contains links to some of its member sites.

Mind works for a better life for everyone experiencing mental distress, campaigns for the right to lead an active and valued life in the community and is an influential voice on mental health issues.

Manic Depression Fellowship

The Children's Legal Centre is an independent national charity concerned with law and policy affecting children and young people.

Who Cares? Trust
The Who Cares Trust promote the interests of children and young people in public care and we work with all those interested in their well-being in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and around the world.

Bullying Online
A comprehensive website which helps parents and pupils deal with school bullying. It is also used as a resource by teachers and health professionals. There are around 30 different sections including issues like how to deal with racist problems and mobile phone text abuse as well as practical advice for parents and pupils.

National Youth Agency
The National Youth Agency aims to advance youth work to promote young people's personal and social development, and their voice, influence and place in society.

Childline UK
ChildLine is a free national helpline for children and young people in trouble or danger.

Through almost 300 projects nationwide, Barnardo's help children, young people and their families to overcome severe disadvantages, including abuse, homelessness and poverty, and to tackle the challenges of disability.

Action for Children
NCH Action For Children aims to improve the lives of Britain's most vulnerable children and young people by providing a diverse and innovative range of services for them and their families and campaigning on their behalf.

The National Children's Bureau (NCB) is a registered charity which promotes the interests and well-being of all children and young people across every aspect of their lives. The Drug Education Forum is also hosted here.

Daniels Healthcare
Manufactures and distributors of Healthcare products, including needle exchange.

Surescreen provide a wide range of drug testing products and services. They provide a highly professional service and are aware of the complex tensions that surround the issue of drug testing.

Frontier medical products
Frontier provide lots of services, but the one to highlight here is there provision for needle exchanges especially their very fine sharps bins. These are being constantly refined and designed and they are very very good. They consult with both professionals and users and this is reflected in their products.

Centre for Drug Misuse Research - University of Glasgow
The aim of the Centre for Drug Misuse Research is to conduct high quality, policy relevant research on the problem of drug misuse within Scotland. The Centre is committed to a simple philosophy, namely that those working in the drug misuse field within Scotland need access to accurate and up to date information on the nature of the drug problem in our country and the effectiveness of their efforts at tackling drug misuse.

Centre for Policy Study
A Tory think-tank set up by Keith Joseph in the 1970's. In 2008 set up the Prison's and Addiction Forum where the likes of Kathy Gyngell and Deirdre Boyd from Addiction Today can rage against harm reduction and methadone.

Centre for Social Justice
The Centre for Social Justice is an independent think tank established by Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP in 2004 to seek effective solutions to the poverty that blight parts of Britain. They're not here cos I love them; but it's essential to understand the ideology that underpins the current Government's activities.

Joseph Rowntree Foundation
The Joseph Rowntree Foundation is an endowed charity that funds a large, UK-wide research and development programme. We seek to understand the root causes of social problems, to identify ways of overcoming them, and to show how social needs can be met in practice.

Drug and Alcohol Findings
Drug and Alcohol Findings bridges the divide between UK-relevant research on the effectiveness of responses to drug and alcohol problems and the practitioners who provide those interventions. The project aims to encapsulate the studies' findings, set them in context and to explore the implications for practice.

Museum of Drugs
This is place is fabulous! It 'houses' a collection of artifacts that reveal the history of substance use and societal reaction prior to 1971 when the Misuse of Drugs Act came into force in the United Kingdom. The Museum explores society's relationship with substance use, charting a story of polarisation, from acceptance and tolerance through to fear, moral panic and prohibition.
